Atento Brasil invests in training talented young people
Atento Brasil, in partnership with the Telefônica Foundation, has just launched the second phase of a program that offers opportunities to low-income young people in the city of São Paulo. This time, the Apse Institute and the Telecommunication Workers Union in the State of São Paulo (Sintetel) will also participate in the partnership.
Known as the Prejal project (Employment Promotion for Young People in Latin America), the action came to Brazil through the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2008, and 100 young people have already been qualified.
The course, which lasts two months with daily classes from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. or from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., was developed by Atento Brasil and focuses on teleservices, an expanding market which is currently the main source of first jobs in the country.
"The company is the largest private employer in Brazil and this is proof of our social role, which qualifies and prepares young people for the job market," says Márcia Fontes, Director of People Development at Atento.
About the project
This year, the project began by creating 130 openings, targeting young people between the ages of 17 and 24. To qualify, the candidate must have completed or be in high school with the expectation of finishing in the middle of the year, and must live in the capital or in Greater São Paulo.
All classes will be conducted by the Apse Institute, a non-profit organization specializing in training young people for the job market, at the Sintetel Professionalization Training Center.
Registration may be done by all citizens who conform to the pre-established profile given above. Just go to the Apse/ Sintetel Professionalization Training Center, which is located at Santa Isabel, 36 - Vila Buarque - close to the República subway station, or call 11-3331-3110.
